The Agoura Hills Harmony and Conejo Valley Harmony Oaks choruses proudly present the seventh annual benefit concert for local high school choral programs at the Kavli Theatre in the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza (TOCAP) on February 20, 2005 at 2 PM. The show “Right Here in River City” features Dick Van Dyke and his "Vantastix" quartet singing a wide variety of songs including several from Mr. Van Dyke’s stage and screen successes.

Van Dyke also serves as the show MC, introducing and performing with five lively and energetic local high school choral groups, from Westlake, Oak Park, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Santa Susanna (Simi Valley) and El Camino (Woodland Hills). Two of the schools feature show choirs that sing and dance, and Newbury Park High School is providing a boy’s barbershop quartet.  A wide range of music styles and types will be presented by the schools.

In addition, both the Agoura Hills Harmony chorus, an a cappella women’s group, and the Conejo Valley Harmony Oaks chorus, an a cappella men’s group, will perform, joined by several award winning quartets.   The finale of the show features all participants in a dual (men and women) barbershop arrangement “musically dueling” with the song "Right Here in River City” from the Broadway musical “Music Man”.

This is the fourth year of Van Dyke’s support of this annual event which was initiated in 1998. To date, 12 local participating high schools have received over $50,000 from this series of concerts. Van Dyke’s support of music and harmony also includes being honorary chairman of the National Harmony Foundation.
